Nothing screams late-stage capitalism like a bunch of athletes hopping themselves up on steroids, competing to the delight of a bunch of rich tech bros known for grifting off the federal government.
But that’s precisely what Sunday’s so-called Enhanced Games are all about.
The May 24 event in Las Vegas, backed by Trump-aligned investors including Peter Thiel, the Antichrist-obsessed cofounder of Palantir and PayPal, and Donald Trump Jr., through his MAGA-branded investment firm, is being marketed as an Olympic-style competition in which participants are encouraged to use performance-enhancing drugs. It seems MAGA world won’t be satisfied unless every aspect of human life is infected with a brazen disregard for ethics, from the White House to the running track.
As you might imagine, critics have raised all kinds of concerns about this spectacle. There are, of course, worries about wealthy self-comporting elites basically conducting what some have framed as a half-baked science project on athletes for the sake of billionaires’ entertainment. And critics have also raised concerns about the potential for this event to encourage drug use among young athletes.
Thiel, who was an early backer of the Enhanced Games, is among several tech-focused elites — along with deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein — who have heavily promoted themes central to a eugenics-aligned theory known as “transhumanism,” the adherents of which strive to use technology to essentially create a new species of beings.
One could argue the Enhanced Games, and their emphasis on athletes using drugs to enhance their powers, is a way of promoting the fundamental ethos of transhumanism using sports.
Personally, I find it rather creepy.
But it almost goes without saying that the backers of the Enhanced Games aren’t exactly the faces of altruism. And that, it would seem, is a primary reason this event that feels like it was spawned from the deranged mind of a mad scientist — or a college freshman after taking a bong hit — wasn’t derailed in the months prior to now.
