About me:
Hey, I'm Andy.
I graduated from the University of Michigan last year and now I've moved here from the mitten for one of those real-world adult lives. I'm one of those `tech workers` driving up the Bay Area cost of living.
I think the number one trait I look for in somebody is that she would describe herself as "a reader"; I read a lot myself (though mostly fantasy), and I find it wonderfully intimate to share that experience. I also tend to get along really well with people who associate themselves with communities around `nerdy stuff`such as Doctor Who, Nerdfighteria, or even tumblr and anime, though I don't really invest so much time in that stuff.
Socially, I have a few friend groups that I'll hang out with occasionally (mostly dinner parties), but most of the people I would hang out with regularly have either gone to other places after graduating or are still at University. I'm not really one to "go out" (clubbing etc...), but I'm not opposed to trying new things if they sound interesting.
Here are some other tidbits of info you may appreciate:
- People tend to think I'm funny, but I'm also a fan of puns / dad jokes, so be warned.
- I make a mean key lime pie (well, usually people like the cherry pies the best, but I've had that line about the key lime on my resume for a few years)
- I'm a bit of a (fountain) pen nerd, and I correspond with a bunch of old friends by regularly writing letters.
- I've only been in one romantic relationship before, and that was cut short by graduation. I'm not one to `hookup` unless I know it's going to be serious.
- I consider myself a secular jew, and am looking primarily for people who find themselves either secular/atheist or Jewish
- Politically, I Go Blue most of the time (and not just because that's a cheer at Michigan).
